Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12 tniv)
For our thought and contemplation based on the previous verse:
What does it mean to be chosen by God?
Why is it important to recognize that "holy" and "dearly loved" go together as descriptions of us as God's chosen people?
Why should we "clothe ourselves" with the virtues listed?
What is the difference between the command "clothe ourselves" with these virtues and "go do these things"?
Why do you think the Holy Spirit led Paul to include these virtues as the spiritual clothing they were wear as followers of Christ — compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience?
